Fluffing my nest... these past few days I've felt like a mother hen fluffing her nest. Getting the house in to some kind of order for the holidays. Tim and I have been picking out base boards and crown moulding and paint colors for the hallways, dining room and living room. I can't wait for the weekend so I can put my furniture back. Everything is piled high in the family room. Sillie Millie is back.. she was at the kennel all week to spare her from the loud noise. Just one more work day and I am free again! Still Life Class is almost over too just a few more weeks. I am counting the days. Photography class has been fun... I think I've learned alot but I am disappointed with the still lifes class. I've learned alot there too, but for some reason my expectations were a lot higher. I've learned that I don't like classical painting... it just isn't my style...I'll be lucky if pass the class. I think my attitude about it sucks too, definately reflects i

Here is a pic of the floors pre sanding stage. This is my blue dining room, will probably change the color to sandy taupe or maybe even a light greyish blue. I also scrapped off the "jucky" popcorn cieling stuff. I figured a little more dust can't hurt things.

Floors are stained now.. .and will get their final satin finished in the next few days. I was hoping they would be done by Thanksgiving...but looks like it will take a bit longer for everything to cure. Can't wait for it all to be done. The dust is getting to me... I am asthmatic and dust a big trigger for me. Since I couldn't really be in the house while they were sanding and priming I spent alot of time outside pulling the weeds. The garden is looking nice and ready for the holidays. I cut back all of the lavendar and gave it away to my neighbors. They returned the gift of scents, by giving me cookies!

Brisas

It's been a crazy week again. But this time I was able to spend time painting something new and fun. It's a much larger canvas than my regular mini paintings. Our floors are being redone so I've had to be home to make decisions on repairs and colors. Finally I get to decorate my own house the way I want it, goodbye nasty carpet. Renovation are tough and the house is mess, there is dust everywhere... but the positive side is that by Monday I'll have beautiful new floors and I've had a chance to paint and just have fun with it. This new paintings is called "Brisas". Several dresses, floating on a ribbon in the ocean breeze under the light of the sun. The ribbon reads "Bailando en las Brisas del mar y la luz del Sol..." It's a pretty large size canvas 12x24 , much larger than the smaller 5x7 minis I've been working on lately. Not sure yet if I'll keep this one, I may put it up on the block. I find that the more I let go of pai

He survived the big game... thank God! Here is Timmy after the game (que chulo)...relieved that it was over. They lost big, 60 something to 16 ...but he's a "Winner" in my book for making it through the season with no visits to the ER. (insert big mom sigh...wheew)

Timmy got pinned!....I don't think I've ever seen him smile that wide before....what a cutie! Actually I've never seen him wear a tie before, except for maybe a bow tie for his 1st birthday.

The BIG GAME! Today is the big game for Timmy, homecoming is finally here. We woke up this morning to a tee pee'd house and huge sign for us to hold up for Timmy at the game. He was a knot of nerves last night and this morning. I think partly because they are playing Aragon (got spanked) by them last year. Timmy ended up in the ER last year when they played Aragon, but I am praying that his angels protect him and not let him get hurt this game. I know he is a much smarter player this year. He's also looking forward to the dance tonight, we went shopping for suit last night, ordered the corsage... so funny to see every other boy with their mom shopping too. Timmy is number 7 on Varsity. Go Knights! Such the proud mama.

The month of November reminds me to be thankful for all the great blessings in my life. I post a picture of an angel too because the other night I dreamt that I was being hugged by angel, it wrapped me with it's wings and made me feel as though everything would be okay. I am grateful for that dream. My abc's of thankfulness... revisted. A I am thankful for angels that protect me. B I am thankful for my body that puts up with the torture that I put it through. C I am thankful for my children who I love with every ounce of my soul. D I am thankful for the dreams I have that remind me to never give up. E I am thankful for the energy and rush I feel when I've finished a painting. F I am thankful for my faith, family and friends who keep me grounded. (and flowers... I love flowers) G I am thankful for God's Grace, without it I would not be here today. H I am thankful for good health, my home and hope for a better tomorrow. I I am thankful for the things t
