SAPO VERDE to me! SAPO Verde to me. another day, another year. Hadn't really thought about my birthday until now. It's been nice so far. Had a nice breakfast with Erika at NiNi's a really nice hole in the wall diner in San Mateo, took her school shopping and home now. Used my birthday holiday to enjoy a long weekend. For the Sacto flash show...still needs a little work, but you get the picture. As I go you will see the theme of the exhibit...would love hear comments. I'm not going for realism here just fun & whimsical ...it's the way I like to view my art... not to serious, just having fun and enjoying myself.

Angel trading cards that I've been working on. I gessoed (spelling?) some standard playing cards and painted them for a trade that I am way behind on. Here a birds eye view from my table.

New painting for the Flash show at the Raza Galeria Posada (Sacramento). It's acrylic & silverleaf on canvas. I am now starting to get ready for that exhibit and pray that my angels give me inspiration for this show.

Eri and Emi went to camp and are back already! They refused to show me the dance steps they learned. Sarah started Spanish Immersion (kinder), first day quote to remember: Me: So how was your first day? Sarah: "my brain hurts, I don't want to talk about it" She has since warmed up to it and has been singing buenos dias, buenos dias ...como estas, como estas in the shower. Ms. Mimi ate all the leather belts in the house. oops! Ms. L graduated, poor "boy" will be lost without her next year. The joys of un adolocente enamorado . Yo le digo "guarda tu corazon, hijo" he says. ... I know mom, I know.

If you haven't heard the new website Art By Latina Artists (ABLA) is now live! It's been a labor of love for the past few weeks and has been well received by many. It was a only dream, a thought in the beginning of June and now has become a reality. I am so grateful to all the wonderful artists who have allowed us to share their talents through the website. It's mission is to celebrate our talented mujeres and to show that we are here, we have a place where we can collectively as a group display our artwork, talents and voices. Our voices can be heard and our talents speak through our creative visions. ABLA celebra nuestros talentos y mujeres de vision.
