Pupusa Art? In my everyday quest to read about and find interesting art and the people that create it, I came across this website: JOE BRAVO - Original Acrylic Paintings on Tortillas Of all the different things you can do with a tortilla, (tacos, tostadas, flautas, enchiladas, chips, quesadias,... frisbee, coaster,etc...) the thought of using one as a canvas never crossed my mind. (mental note ...add to list of things to try) My hats off to Joe Bravo! I've never seen anything like this and they sell for quite a sum.... hmmm. I wonder if I can do this with a "pupusa"?
Las Tres Marias Now that Houdini is done... I'm working on a new project called "Las Tres Maria's", a portrait of me, my mother and my grandmother. We share the same name...Maria. Look for it soon in the gallery. The similarities of the b/w pictures are scary. Paper mache boxes are coming along and the handmade journals are too. I have the supplies just trying to find the time to make them. Sometimes I wish there were 3 of me! (or maybe 5) One to paint all day, one to care for my family, one to work, one to cook and clean and one sitting on the beach sipping a margarita! (for the other 4 of course). relevant quote: "Behind every successful woman... is a basket of dirty laudry." - Sally Forth Have A Great Day!
"Life is like a box of chocolates...you never know what your gonna get" (like the one Brady just put on my desk) I've been blessed to have the life that I have and am grateful for the people that are in it. As I start this new venture I look forward to whatever life brings my way. ------------- I'm starting a new painting today. It's a commissioned work for my friend Olivia. Her best friend "Houdini"...look for him in the gallery in the next few days. Happy Valentines Day!
