Well it seems my "free" site has received too much traffic this month my free service has shut it down. I need to find a new hosting service so until December the site will probably down. I'll be using the blog for updates as before.

Panes con Pavo a favorite traditional dish that I've not had in years. I hope to try and make it this year for my family. I think I have everything except maybe the "relajo" seasoning which is the key to this dish flavor. I think my mom used to use watercress instead of lettuce on the sandwiches but watercress has a bit of a kick (spicy) flavor I may need to stick with lettuce?Wish me luck. I'm cooking two birds this year.. one for Sarah's class on Wednesday the other for my familia on Thursday. I'm thinking I'll cook some yucca frita with curtido and carnitas too. Ummm my mouth is watering at the thought of it. Happy Thanksgiving to everyone.

Last night as the kids were doing homework, and the house was semi calm I sat down and painted this mini canvas (panel)... and out came this little Frida trensa head. I hadn't painting a Frida in a while.. I figured it was time. Frida Trensa Head, 5x7 inches, acrylics on canvas panel. Silly little poem.... braids, trensas, braids ouch it hurts dont' pull so hard take them out... I look like pipi longstocking! I can swing from them or maybe hold a robin's nest? braids, trensas, braids

This morning i drove into work like any other day, made 3 kid stops, a gas stop, a pumpkin spice latte stop (oooh it was good)... driving down hwy 101, "I thought it's such a nice day ....do I really have to be stuck in the office today?" aaaargh...well instead I took a 5 minute detour to the Ruth Gamble Gardens . I drive by them everyday and I always wish I had time to stop. I didn't even give it much thought this time.. I just pulled into the parking lot, grabbed my digi cam and took a quickie 5 minute stroll. Sometimes you just have to stop and smell the roses (which I did), I took some pics of some of my favorite plants growing in this beautiful oasis. With the holidays and gatherings and all the cooking that is coming in the next few days I figured if I don't stop I never will and I'll regret not taking even 5 minutes to enjoy natures goodness.
