Goodbye Millie we will miss you..... our family is so sad... I've been balling my eyes out all yesterday and I am in tears as write this. My poor little Millie. We had to put her down yesterday. She seems so harmless, but this loveable little girl had a mean streak. She was very jealous of my 4 yr old Sarah. She took a bite out of Sarah thigh (2nd bite incident) and after much consulation with the vet, JRT rescue and SPCA they all agreed that putting her down was our only solution since she was "not adoptable". A year ago when the first bite happened we even went to family doggie counseling with an expert dog trainer. I will never understand why Millie did this. But we will always remember her for her silliness, loveable licks and crazy antics. The house was to quiet this morning, and I dread going home again to an empty house. She brought us so much joy. I am looking for a new baby one that is much more child friendly and am considering a Apple Head teacup Chihuahua or a Yorkshire Terrier. If anyone has any other suggestions on what type of dog is really good with children let me know.  Posted by Hello

I'm sorry you had to do this. I hope you get a nice dog... I love all types of dogs, but a couple of years ago I met a lady that had a Leonberger and I thought that was the CUTEST, COOLEST, MOST AMAZING DOG EVER!!! I don't know where you could find one, or if you'd like it. They're HUGE but they're sooooooo friendly, it's ridiculous! Here's a website I found for you. Good luck finding a new baby :)

I was commissioned to do this special little painting of El Cipitio of El Salvador. It's my interpretation of a small postage stamp that El Salvador put out several years ago. "El Cipitio" 8x10 inches acrylics on canvas El Cipitio (From Wikipedia) El Cipitio es un cipote (niño) de 10 años con un estomago bien grande. "Who are you today, Maria?"

I've been wanting to post a little blurb on this for while but didn't want to jinx myself until it was finalized. McDougall Littell Publishing is publishing this painting alongside a short story by latina author Judith Ortiz Cofer . It will appear in a their Language Arts, 8th Grade Literature 2007 edition (expected sometime in the spring). The title of the story is "Who are you today, Maria?". I can't wait to see it and read the rest of the story! I've never met Judith Ortiz Cofer, but I've started reading her books and poetry. At some point I might even get the courage to email or call her. I am such a chicken when it comes to things like this. I feel like I can officially say and respond to that eternal question "Who are you today, Maria?"... Today I am a published artist! yippee! Thank you McDougall Littell and Judith for the opportunity.
